In the plain of the Conca d'Oro - Prato Santa Caterina, the city has created a large new park dedicated to the boys of '99, the last class of the first World War I, which marked decisively the fate of the conflict. At the center of the park stands the monument to the Boys of '99, with attached votive chapel, strongly desired by their association. A little further up, at the north end of Viale delle Fosse, stands a mighty and austere monument erected in 1938 to commemorate General Gaetano Giardino, commander of the 4th Army, whose bronze figure is aimed precisely towards Monte Grappa.
