The Loggia di Piazza, above and behind which the current Palazzo del Municipio was built in the following centuries was built during the fifteenth century (starting from 1405). A few years later it was decided to have a watch with a dial put on it, made by Mastro Corrado da Feltre for 46 gold ducats. It entered into operation on February 2, 1430. The presence of the clock indicates the lay lapse of the time of the 'civitas'. The current device was built by the engineer Bartolomeo Ferracina in 1747. The 120 frescoed coats of arms of the first Venetian podestàs are preserved in the interior. Although a fire in 1682 destroyed precious frescoes by Jacopo Dal Ponte, nevertheless on the south wall remains a fresco by Francesco Bassano il Vecchio, Jacopo's father, who depicts Saint Christopher, patron saint of wayfarers.
