The Museo degli Alpini of Bassano del Grappa, founded in 1950, is a museum dedicated to the collection of finds and testimonies of the First World War.
It offers the visitor the opportunity to relive the memory linked to the Great War through a journey that recalls the history, values, feelings and deeds of the Alpini. It is located in the basement of the 'Taverna degli Alpini' in Bassano del Grappa located in the immediate vicinity of the Ponte Vecchio (degli Alpini) and is an important stop on a comprehensive visit to the Bassano area.

The museum was born from the will of the National Association of Alpine 'ANA Monte Grappa', section of Bassano del Grappa, to create a place dedicated to their colleagues who bravely faced the experience of the First World War. The museum contains a wealth of culture and values that should not be lost in order to pass on the memory of events that have marked the conscience of Italians. The inauguration of the Museo degli Alpini dates back to October 1, 1950, two years after the national meeting of the Alpini that saw the protagonist of the city of Bassano del Grappa; in the same period the Ponte degli Alpini (Ponte di Bassano) was rebuilt and it is here that the president of the Alpine Section, Colonel Bruno Solagna, decides to assign a space to the collection of documents and other material on the Bassano bridge.

The museum is spread over two underground floors which can be accessed through the 'Taverna degli Alpini'. Inside the museum there are 29 bulletin boards, each containing objects and specific material. On the first floor below are the showcases numbered from 1 to 25, while to view the boards 26, 27, 28 and 29 you need to go downstairs (last underground room).
