Porta Dieda is part of the masonry of the fourteenth and was erected at the behest of the Podestà Domenico Diedo, from which it takes its name, in 1541. Traces of decorative frescoes that once decorated the south façade of Porta Dieda attributed to Jacopo da Ponte. The external facade of Porta Dieda is decorated with a fresco depicting the Winged Lion with the open book, an unmistakable symbol of the bond of Bassano del Grappa with the Most Serene Republic.
