The original construction dates back to 1308 when the De Biasi family wanted to build a shelter for the sick and infirm. In 1397 the Chapel dedicated to the Body of Christ was added, but it was only in 1747, under the direction of the Bassanese architect Giovanni Miazzi, that the facade was decorated with seven sculptures by the artist Antonio Bosa. The interior houses works of art such as the Altarpiece by Giambattista Piazzetta and the Marinali doors. The placement of the high altar to the left rather than to the center of the nave is one of the peculiarities of this sacred building that the local elders like to call 'bugoa' precisely because of the contrast between the majesty of the facade and the relative modesty of the interior.
