Opposite the Dominican convent of Santa Corona is the elegant residence of the Da Monte family. The factory, built between 1550 and 1554, is now universally attributed to Palladio thanks also to the examination of various autograph drawings. However, the design is earlier and referable to 1540 or 1541 when the little more than thirty year old Andrea was analyzing and re-proposing the architectural schemes of Sebastiano Serlio.
