Palazzo Leoni Montanari is a monument in baroque style, in contrà Santa Corona. Built in 1678 and completed in the first half of the eighteenth century. In the second half of the Seventies the building was the object of an important restoration that allowed the restoration and enhancement of the architectural facades and the rich interior decoration, of which the original configuration was largely recovered. After the merger of Banca Cattolica del Veneto into the Banco Ambrosiano Veneto in January 1990, the building was freed from institutional functions to become the seat of the only activities linked to the institution's cultural policy. Since 1999, with the name of Galleries of Palazzo Leoni Montanari, it has become a private museum that houses two permanent collections of Venetian painting of the eighteenth century and of ancient Russian icons.
