The majestic Palazzo Barbaran Da Porto, named after the Vicentine nobleman Montano Barbarano, located in contrà Porti in Vicenza, turns out to be the only city palace completed entirely by Andrea Palladio. Built between 1570 and 1575, also called Museo Palladio, today it is the Andrea Palladio International Center for Architectural Studies, in a research institute dedicated to the history of architecture. The artists who decorated the Palace are Battista Zelotti and Lorenzo Rubini. The Palace is a significant example of Palladio's ability to reconstruct pre-existing buildings in monumental form and testifies to the urban quality of his interventions.
