
The design of the Valmarana palace was commissioned to Palladio in 1565 by Isabella Nogarola, widow of Giovanni Alvise Valmarana, and the construction began in 1566, extending to the following decade. In 1945, during World War II, the building was heavily damaged by bombing in 1960 and the building was donated by the family to Vittor Luigi Braga Rose ò sought to rebuild lost parts. The stuccos frame the frescoes, in the center in an oval appears the Aurora and the Hours. In the four hexagonal spaces are represented: Mars and Time, Venus and Adonis, Hercules kills Cacus, Scene of a shipwreck. In the other panels the Concordia, the Time, Angel covered with stars, Mercury, the Fame. A very small bust above the window seems to be a portrait of Leonardo Valmarana. The palace is the patron of UNESCO.
